There’s something deeply comforting about making pizza. The mixing of flour, water, and yeast, the blending of tomatoes, basil, garlic, oregano, the warmth from the oven, and music playing in the background.
Music changes everything. Maybe it’s a favourite song that’s played at every family gathering, or your favourite 80's songs that take you back to hanging out in the music shop in town as a teenager.
For me, music is one of the greatest things ever created, I can't go a day without it, and I don't think I'd be able to make pizza without it, it's always part of the process, it has to be.
There’s a moment when everything feels perfect and it’s no longer just about making pizza, as Luther's belting out his soulful tones, it becomes about happiness, comfort and love. Alexander O'Neal, Sade, Anita Baker all lend a hand to make our pizzas taste the way they do.
Because making pizza with music isn’t just cooking. It’s a reminder that the best things in life are made slowly, with passion and care, and with a song in your heart.
It's an amazing feeling to be able to cook good food that people really enjoy, but what makes it extra special is being able to listen to my favourite music while doing it.
